Introduction
Thank you for using QuizUs!
These Terms of Use apply to your use of the QuizUs web and mobile applications (the "Service"). These Terms form a binding agreement between you and QuizUs Ltd. ("QuizUs", "we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by them.
Who we are
QuizUs is developed by Sys‑Front, a research‑driven technology company. Our mission is to build software and algorithms powered by the latest advances in artificial intelligence.
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and QuizUs Ltd. By accessing or using any part of www.quizus.pro or related applications, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you access the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation and the term ‘you’ will include such organisation.
You must be at least 13 years old (or, if higher, the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms on your behalf.
Description of Service
QuizUs is an AI‑assisted platform for creating, sharing, and playing quizzes in real‑time rooms. The Service combines proprietary code, user‑generated content, and outputs from third‑party large‑language models ("LLMs") supplied by OpenAI and Google Cloud Vertex AI.
The LLMs generate suggested questions, answers, and explanations based on prompts you provide. While we strive for accuracy, AI output may contain errors, and you should independently verify any factual statements before relying on them.
Account Registration & Eligibility
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering for an account, and you must keep that information up to date.
Authentication is handled through Clerk and may include Google OAuth or other social sign‑ins. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You may not share your credentials or otherwise allow anyone else to access your account. Creating multiple accounts to evade bans, usage limits, or subscription fees is prohibited.
If you create an account or use the Service on behalf of another person or entity, you warrant that you have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf and that all references to ‘you’ in the Terms include that person or entity.
AI Content & User‑Generated Content
Your Prompts & Input
You retain ownership of all prompts, text, images, and other data you provide ("Input"). You grant QuizUs and our model providers a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free licence to use the Input as necessary to operate and improve the Service, including detecting abuse. We do not use Input to train our own models beyond what OpenAI and Google may do under their terms.
AI Output
Subject to these Terms, QuizUs assigns to you any copyright it may hold in the quiz questions, answers, or other material generated specifically for you ("Output"). Because Output can be similar for multiple users, uniqueness is not guaranteed.
Your Content Licence to Us
By publishing quizzes, questions, or other content on QuizUs ("User Content"), you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty‑free licence to host, reproduce, display, publicly perform, and create derivative works from that content solely for operating, marketing, and improving the Service.
Responsibility
You are solely responsible for User Content you post and any AI Output you decide to publish. Don't rely on AI Output for professional advice.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to create, upload, or share content that is illegal, infringes intellectual‑property rights, exploits minors, promotes hatred or violence, or violates privacy.
You may not attempt to reverse‑engineer, scrape, or disrupt the Service, the underlying LLMs, or any associated networks (Ably real‑time channels, Neon databases, Vercel infrastructure).
You must comply with OpenAI’s Usage Policies and Google Cloud’s Generative AI Prohibited Content rules when submitting prompts or publishing AI‑generated content.
Subscriptions, Billing & Refunds
QuizUs offers FREE, HOBBY, and PRO subscription tiers processed via Stripe. Prices, features, and usage limits are described on the pricing page and may change with at least 30 days’ notice.
By choosing a paid tier you authorise us (or Stripe acting on our behalf) to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You may cancel at any time via your account settings; the cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Except where required by law, fees are non‑refundable.
Chargebacks or payment disputes may result in immediate suspension of your account and data access until resolved.
Privacy, Data Retention & Security
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data‑protection laws such as the GDPR.
User records are stored in Postgres (Neon.tech). When you delete your account, direct identifiers (e‑mail, username, avatar, Clerk ID, IP addresses) are removed or irreversibly hashed; statistical game data is retained only in anonymised form that cannot reasonably be linked back to you.
Operational logging and analytics are handled through PostHog and Vercel. We pseudonymise IP addresses wherever technically feasible.
We implement industry‑standard security measures (encryption in transit and at rest, least‑privilege access, annual penetration testing), but no system is completely secure. You use the Service at your own risk.
Third‑Party Services & Links
The Service interfaces with third‑party platforms (OpenAI, Google Cloud, Ably, Clerk, Stripe, Brevo e‑mail, and others). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies, which may differ from ours.
We are not responsible for third‑party content, downtime, or data practices. Any issues arising from third‑party services should be addressed with the relevant provider.
Intellectual Property
QuizUs, including its software code, design, and trademarks, is owned by QuizUs Ltd. or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual‑property laws.
Except for the limited licence granted to you under these Terms, QuizUs retains all rights, title, and interest in the Service.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service or included software, nor may you reverse‑engineer or attempt to extract the source code, except as permitted by law.
Termination & Suspension
You may delete your account at any time via the settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if required by law.
On termination, your licence to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., licences granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
The Service (including AI Output) is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, QuizUs disclaims all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.
In no event will QuizUs, its directors, employees, or partners be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such cases, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict‑of‑law principles.
You and QuizUs agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction to enforce intellectual‑property rights.
If you are an EU consumer, you may be entitled to bring disputes in your local courts under mandatory consumer‑protection laws.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via e‑mail (Brevo) or in‑app notification at least 14 days before they take effect unless the change is needed to comply with law.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
